Who will be the head coach of La Liga team Sevilla in the 2025-26 season?

The head coach of Sevilla in the 2025-26 La Liga season is Matías Almeida (Argentinian). He previously coached AEK Athens, Guadalajara and other teams, and won the Greek double championship, the Mexican League championship and the CONCACAF Champions League. In June 2025, he signed a three-year contract with Sevilla, aiming to reshape the team's competitiveness.

Matías Almeida played for us in the 1996/97 season and will start his first La Liga coaching career in July.

Almeida's coaching resume spans four national leagues: he immediately took over the coaching position after retiring from River Plate in the 2011/12 season, created a miracle of promotion during his coaching period at Banfield from 2013 to 2015 (101 games), and then moved to Guadalajara and San Jose after the earthquake. He led AEK Athens to win the 2022/23 Greek double in the first season, and won the league runner-up in the next two seasons (80 wins, 24 draws and 30 losses in 134 games).
